PORT•SACKS is the next evolution of Port Canvas & Cushion, a custom marine canvas and cushion manufacturer based in Newburyport, Mass.
Founded by Tom Secino, a manufacturing engineer with a sharp eye for style, and Colleen Turner Secino, a marketing diva with a penchant for well-made, beautiful and practical accessories, PORT•SACKS creates unique bags using marine grade remnants and hardware.
PORT•SACKS is the ideal combination of fashionability, durability and sustainability, all combined to advance the Made-In-America movement. Tom explains, “Aside from the fact that we cut and sew every bag right here in Newburyport, we seek out USA-made materials whenever possible and for those few bits that do not meet that goal, we purchase from a US-based company."
Style & Quality
PORT•SACKS come in six styles: Life’s a Beach…the last tote you will ever buy; Stowaway, our nod to the wristlet; Ditty, a unisex duffle styled after the bags given sailors back in the late 1800s; Duck, solid colored bags as stylish and hardy as our Bosun, but at a fraction of the cost; and our signature Bosun (two sizes) and Captain (two sizes) sacks.
We search the best sources for our marine grade vinyls, canvas, rigging rope and stainless steel hardware to ensure that each piece will stand the test of time for our customers. And if it doesn’t, send it back for repair or replacement.
Each sack is hand signed and numbered, with no two bags ever alike. From triple-stand, stainless steel feet to 100% USA-made cotton rigging rope that is hand-whipped and twice-dipped, our PORT•SACKS are made with the utmost thought and attention to detail.
All bags are handcrafted and consist of marine and outdoor grade fabrics, stainless steel hardware and 100% USA made rigging rope that is hand-whipped and twice-dipped. The accent material is part of a uniquely named line, using all the short lots of high-end materials found. Once a material is gone? The line is gone.
By shopping PORT•SACKS, you are not just getting an original, one-of-a-kind product at an affordable price, but you are also supporting and strengthening local economies by creating jobs, as well as setting a new standard for a more socially responsible manufacturing process.
